What are we looking for?

Plain clothed officers in tactical gear, sometimes will say police on back, sometimes not

SUVS, black, white, grey, HSI vehicles, Sprinter vans

All federal agencies are working together so you can see ICE, Border Patrol, Homeland Security Investigators

 

Responsibility of ICE watch Post-game

-Look for officers or vehicles that could be ICE

-Notify signal so we can notify people to stay put or activate safe exit plan, maybe under stadium

 

Responsibility of Safe Zone Directors

-Work with FO/ACFC Staff to provide a safe exit

OR

-direct people to stay inside stadium until it’s clear

 

Responsibility of ICE Activity Recorders

-Record officer’s faces, try to not record face of person being detained

-Shout out rights to people detained:

                  -do not sign anything

                  -remember and call hotline 9233# from within detention

                  -do not share information about immigration status or country of origin

-ask if there is someone they would like you to contact

-Get cross streets/land marks

-State date and time of day

Responsibility of Post-game Exit Escorts

-Walk vulnerable folks to cars

-Do not run, walk (running is probable cause)

-Travel in groups, creating as much barrier around vulnerable folks

 

 

Stay calm

Always record

Remember basic rights (remain silent, don’t sign anything, call hotline)

Don’t interfere directly with officers (could face federal charges)

Goal is prevention not intervention
